Step-by-step guide · Google Search Console + ChatGPT

How to connect Google Search Console to ChatGPT using MCP.

You do not need to build a local MCP server, create a Google Cloud project or export spreadsheets to analyze Google Search Console in ChatGPT. AskGSC hosts the connector, handles OAuth and lets your assistant read authorized GSC data.

Connect my Search Console 14-day free trial · No credit card

Three steps. Zero CSV exports.

01

Start the free trial and authorize Google

Open AskGSC and sign in with the Google account that owns or can view your Search Console properties. Grant the requested webmasters.readonly permission. AskGSC lists the properties already available to that account and securely keeps its Google authorization on the server.

02

Connect the remote MCP server in ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT's plugin or connector settings and add a custom MCP server. Name it AskGSC, paste the hosted server URL shown below, select the supported OAuth authentication method, and authorize the connection. Exact menu names depend on your ChatGPT workspace and plan.

03

Ask questions using your own Search Console data

Choose a property or explicitly include its name in your question. Ask which pages lost organic clicks, which search queries have a low CTR, or how positions changed between dates. AskGSC calls Google's API on demand; your assistant interprets the result inside the chat.

AskGSC remote MCP server endpoint

One URL. Your AI. Your data.

https://uxjnibljefpsjsbukcor.supabase.co/functions/v1/askgsc-api/mcp

Paste this endpoint in the custom MCP settings of a compatible AI client. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 and your AskGSC account.

What can AskGSC read?

The MCP can list your authorized properties, query Google Search performance by query, page, date, country and device, and compare two reporting periods. It returns clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. All exposed tools are read-only.

Analyze search queries
Compare two periods
Find declining pages

Note: Google anonymizes some queries and Search Console metrics are not real time. Custom MCP support depends on the client, plan and workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Google Search Console MCP server?+

No. AskGSC is an independent hosted connector built on Google's official Search Console API. It is not developed or endorsed by Google or OpenAI.

Do I need developer mode or a paid ChatGPT plan?+

The availability of custom MCP connectors depends on your ChatGPT plan, workspace settings and rollout. Check your ChatGPT plugin or connector settings before signing up if your account cannot add custom servers.

Why use AskGSC instead of a self-hosted MCP?+

A local MCP usually requires deployment, API credentials and maintenance. AskGSC provides a ready-to-use hosted endpoint and Google OAuth, plus readable error messages and read-only limits.

Can I use the same MCP with Notion AI or Claude?+

The server uses the remote MCP standard. Notion AI and Custom Agents support custom remote MCP on eligible Business/Enterprise plans with workspace approval. Claude and other MCP clients may support it depending on their configuration. AskGSC's end-to-end tests have been completed in ChatGPT.
