Create an SEO report with ChatGPT and Google Search Console

Ask an MCP-compatible AI assistant to turn your own Search Console data into a concise SEO report: what changed, where it changed and what to investigate next. AskGSC fetches the GSC numbers. The assistant writes the report in the conversation.

Fictional example — not your Google Search Console data

A report is useful only if it separates facts from explanations

A list of clicks and impressions is not an analysis. Specify the property, reporting dates and reader, then ask for the change in each metric, the pages and queries driving it, and a short queue of checks. Label observations, hypotheses and actions separately. Do not let the assistant claim indexation problems or competitor moves from Search Analytics alone.

Build a report worth reading in three steps

01

Define the brief

Name the authorized property, the audience (founder or SEO operator), the report period and a comparable baseline. Use complete dates and the same device/country filters.

02

Get the actual GSC evidence

Request clicks, impressions, CTR and position overall, then the leading gains and losses by page and query. Compare periods using the AskGSC MCP tools.

03

Write decisions, not a data dump

Ask for an executive summary, a small evidence table, three next checks with confidence levels and a clear limitations note. Read the report in ChatGPT, Claude or another compatible client.

A report format that does not disguise uncertainty

Fictional examples of what should appear in the report. No client's data, automated scheduling or made-up diagnosis.

All URLs, queries and numbers in this table are fictional. They demonstrate the method, not actual performance.

Make each recommendation traceable to a GSC row

The fictional report shows more impressions but fewer clicks. That deserves a query-level review, not an automatic recommendation to rewrite every title. An example at position 13 belongs on a shortlist only when the query matters to the business. Separate actionable evidence from explanations that still need a manual check.

Three ready-to-copy report briefs

Specify who is reading the report. The assistant formats the output; AskGSC does not send recurring reports itself.

AskGSC offers read-only Google Search Console access through MCP: accessible properties, Search Analytics and period comparisons. Use the exact authorized property, not a guessed domain.

01Founder weekly SEO brief

Using AskGSC for [PROPERTY], compare the latest complete 28 days with the preceding complete 28 days. Write a one-page SEO brief for a founder: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position, top 3 page gains/losses, relevant queries, three prioritized checks and one data limitation. Separate observations from hypotheses.

02Page-level SEO report

For [PROPERTY], report [PERIOD_START]–[PERIOD_END] against a complete equal-length baseline. Include a table of the 10 pages with the largest absolute click changes, query evidence, CTR and positions. End with three decisions to verify manually, not promises of ranking gains.

03Stakeholder-ready SEO recap

Using the authorized Search Console property [PROPERTY], prepare a concise SEO recap for [AUDIENCE]. Include date ranges, filters and a summary table of clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. For each proposed action, cite the supporting page/query rows and identify assumptions or unreported data.

What the report should help you decide

01

Investigate a real decline

A few URLs account for meaningful click losses. Use their query shifts to choose the next investigation.

02

Avoid a false alarm

A small percentage change rests on almost no clicks, or a recent period is incomplete. Label it low confidence.

03

Queue one improvement

A relevant URL has impressions and a clear intent mismatch. Assign a manual SERP and content review, not an automatic site edit.

AskGSC does not schedule or email SEO reports

The V1 MCP exposes property listing, Search Analytics and period comparisons in read-only mode. It does not send recurring reports, store a historical warehouse, run crawls, inspect indexing, export files, or run while your chat is closed. Any saved or scheduled workflow must come from separate client capabilities.

Questions worth answering

What Search Console can and cannot tell you about this particular SEO problem.

01Can ChatGPT write an SEO report from real Search Console data?

Yes, through a compatible MCP connection authorized to access your property. ChatGPT can summarize returned metrics in the conversation and propose checks.

02Does AskGSC email weekly SEO reports?

No. It exposes tools for on-demand analysis in a compatible assistant, not a built-in scheduler or email report service.

03Can an AI SEO report detect technical indexing issues?

Not from AskGSC's three tools. Search performance can reveal symptoms but not an indexed URL verdict or a site crawl.

Make the next SEO review a conversation, not an export.

Use one copyable brief to produce an evidence-based report in your assistant from the data you already own.
